In today’s rapidly evolving world, simulation technology and digital innovations are transforming how we live, learn, and work. At the HKU School of Nursing (HKUSON), we believe that to prepare future leaders in healthcare, our students must not only embrace these emerging technologies but also cultivate the mindset, adaptability, and compassion needed to thrive in an ever-changing professional landscape.
Our educators have championed the integration of simulation-based education and technological advancements—ranging from high-fidelity and virtual simulations to virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI)—into our professional curricula. These innovations enable students to engage in immersive, experiential learning that mirrors real-world healthcare scenarios while fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and clinical competence.
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) now stands at the heart of this transformation. At HKUSON, we harness GenAI to empower educators and learners to co-create knowledge, personalize learning experiences, and drive innovation in healthcare education. By combining human insight with intelligent technology, we are shaping a future of compassionate, competent, and technologically fluent healthcare professionals.
Our Simulation Team plays a pivotal role in advancing these initiatives, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence across medical and health sciences education. By embedding simulation and digital technologies into both what we teach and how we teach, HKUSON continues to enhance its teaching and learning capacity to meet the complex healthcare needs of our society.
